DOMINIC ANDERSEN - A.D.A.P.T. (Jazz and Tap)
Dominic was a competitive gymnast for 6 years, before beginning her extensive training in Dance. She has trained in Tap, Jazz and Ballet for 8 years and has attained an advanced level at all three disciplines. She has achieved much success and respect in both competition and examination work. We are happy to welcome her to our staff.
SHANNON BINOTTO - B.Ed.,B.A. (Hon.), Accredited A.D.A.P.T. teacher (Jazz), Student member R.A.D.(Elem.)
Shannon has trained at our school for 19 years in Ballet and 14 years in Jazz. Guest teacher at the Barbara Treleaven Summer School at the Canadore College, North Bay. A.D.A. 2nd place awards Dance Offs and 1st place Senior Choreography Award, New York City. Winner Gold Family Award of Excellence, 12 & under Small Group in 2002, Orlando, Florida and numerous other accolades to her credit for award winning choreographies.
TAMI-LYNN CALOIA - Accredited A.D.A.P.T. Teacher (Tap)
Trained in Jazz and Tap for 20 years and has choreographed extensively in the Ottawa area. Choreographer of the tribute number to Oscar Peterson at the 1996 Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards and the award winning Orpheus Production of Chorus Line. She trained both first time Canadian award winning male and female champions of the World Tap Dance Championships in Germany. Tami-Lynn has received many accolades for her choreography and is also an experienced adjudicator.
CHANTAL DELANNOY BOULET - B.A., B.Ed., Accredited A.D.A.P.T. Teacher (Jazz)
Trained & taught 7 years at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern Dance & Musical Theatre. Taught last 10 years in Ottawa and Kitcher, ON. Competed very successfully since 1987 and choreographed extensively, including plays & musicals for l’Academie Jeanne d’Arc. Performed with the Winnipeg Can Can Dancers, Winnipeg Fringe Festival and Orpheus "A Chorus Line".
SOPHIA FALCUCCI - A.D.A.P.T. (Jazz and Tap)
Sophia trained at our school for 14 years in Ballet, Jazz and Tap. She attained the Grade 8 Award level in Ballet (Honours) and Advanced levels in Jazz and Tap. She has also competed very successfully for many years. Sophia choreographed the 2005 production of “A Musical Taste of our Canadian Heritage”.
OREN FALKOVITZ (Hip Hop)
Oren trained in Hip Hop in Toronto, at C.B. Dance Academy, TNT Dance Force and Vlad’s Dance Company and was a competitive dancer at all three schools. He performed with Dave Scott of “Take it to Tha’ Floor” in Toronto and was guest instructor for competitive students for Hip Hop at Vlad’s
Dance Company. He also trained in Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical and Acro. We welcome him to our staff.
LAURIE FARRELL - Accredited A.D.A.P.T. Teacher (Jazz)
Trained in Ottawa, Staff member for 38 years. Highly experienced teacher and choreographer, specializing in technical jazz classes for younger students in preparation for A.D.A.P.T. exams. Teacher of the Multi Award Group G-Tribe. Choreographer for Canada/Shanghai 1997 Dance Troupe.
PING FENG - Ballet
Mr.Feng is a former Premier Danseur with the Ottawa Ballet Co. and the Beijing Dance Academy Ballet Co. He was also a company member and teacher with Les Ballets Jazz de Montreál. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from the Beijing Dance Academy and has many years of teaching experience.
KATHY GIAMBERARDINO - A.D.A.P.T. (Jazz and Tap)
Kathy trained at our school for 15 years. She attained Grade 8 (honors) and R.A.D. Intermediate in ballet and Advanced levels of jazz and tap. Kathy competed very successfully for many years.
CHERYL GOODWIN - B.A., E.T.C., C.T.D.A., Accredited A.D.A.P.T. Teacher (Ballet, Jazz, Tap)
Cheryl's experience includes being the Director of the Children's Ballet Studio for 8 years, teaching in Ottawa area for 34 years. She is a Registered Teacher and Full Member of the Royal Academy of Dancing, the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers and holds the Elementary Certificate in ISTD National Branch. Cheryl Goodwin is fully bilingual amd attended courses in Toronto, ON; Red Deer, AB; London, England. Cheryl successfully assisted students in the Ottawa Valley attain their Teacher's Diploma in the A.D.A.P.T. Jazz and Tap Programme. She is currently specializing in Graded and Vocational R.A.D. Ballet.
LYNNE HODGSON - A.R.A.D. (Ballet)
Trained in Australia and Canada in Ballet (R.A.D. and Russian), Jazz and Modern. Danced with the Alberta Ballet Co. (1968-69) & the Ballet Imperial (1969-77), dancing both classical and contemporary works. Ballet Mistress and Repetiteur with Ottawa Dance Theatre (1978-83). Commenced teaching in Canada (1967) and specialized in Major/Vocational & Higher grades since 1971.
LESLIE JAEGGIN - B.Ed., B.A.(Hon.), A.I.S.T.D. (Jazz, Hip Hop)
Leslie has taught Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Musical Theatre & Hip Hop in Ottawa & Toronto area for 16 years. Leslie has trained in London, England and attended workshops in NYC and Toronto. Choreographer with JCC Theatreworks on their production of Fame (1996) and with CMT as Assistant Director & Choreographer on their production West Side Story (1997). Leslie has taught Jazz at our studio for 7 years and is currently co-director of a local high school’s dance programme.
PATRIZIA MARTINO - L.L.B., Member R.A.D. (Ballet)
Member of the Royal Academy of Dance. Trained at our Studio for 14 years in Ballet and 7 years in Jazz. Patrizia has performed and competed for many years.
KIM MCMAHON - E.C.E., Accredited A.D.A.P.T. Teacher (Tap)
Kim has trained extensively in Tap, Jazz and Ballet at our studio. She has taught for 9 years in the Ottawa area, where her students have been very successful in examinations and competitions. Kim was awarded Young Choreographer of the Year 2001, 2002, 2003 (American Dance Awards) and her students won the Junior Dance-Off in 2006 (Can Dance, Ottawa). She continues to be recognized for her outstanding choreography.
JENNIFER MERKLINGER - B.Ed., Accredited A.D.A.P.T. Teacher (Jazz)
Member of the Royal Academy of Dance. Trained at our Studio for 17 years in Ballet and 13 years in Jazz. Jennifer has attended workshops on Toronto and NYC. She has been very successful in examinations and competitions.
GAIL NEISH - A.R.A.D. (Hon.), I.S.T.D. (Hon.), Registered R.A.D. Teacher (Ballet)
Gail was born to dance in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, where she won an R.A.D scholarship at age 9. She won the 3rd year trophy at Britain's Best Scholar, and achieved honours in both the R.A.D. Advanced (2) Ballet and I.S.T.D. modern examinations. Dancing and show production took her around the world, until she focused on teaching and became Head of Ballet at the Theatre School in Edinburgh for 15 years.
She opened the Gail Neish Dance Studios in Kirkcaldy in 1996. Her students have had an outstanding record in professional examinations, winning the John Marshall Memorial for the Best Ballet Dancer in Scotland, and scholarships to the Royal Ballet School and Elmhurst. Gail has been an adjudicator in the Princess Margaret Memorial and a visiting Masterclass Teacher in many locations. We are delighted to welcome her to our staff.
PHILIPPA WIGGALL - B.A. (Hon.), L.R.A.D.
A graduate of the Royal Academy of Dance, London, England in the Art and Teaching of Ballet, and a licentiate of the R.A.D. Miss Wiggall has taught and choreographed for competitions and recitals for the last 7 years, in England and Canada. She has taught Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern and Pilates, in addition to Ballet. Philippa was involved as the choreographer for an Opera production of ‘Don Giovanni’ performed by students of Ottawa University in January 2006.
