Greta Leeming Robinson established the Studio of Dance in Ottawa, Canada in 1962 and since then the Studio has always been at the forefront of the the Canadian Capital's cultural life. Started as a small ballet school, the Greta Leeming Studio of Dance today is a leading educational institution with extensive syllabi covering several dance styles, including ballet, jazz, tap and hip-hop. We also offer Kinderdance groups for the 2 - 4 years old, introducing rhythm and basic ballet and jazz positions and movements.
Although having a strong reputation as the best school preparing students for a professional career, we have carefully designed our syllabus to benefit both professionally oriented and recreational students. We offer classes for different levels and age groups. For many years we have trained dancers who excel in technique, performance and show excellent results in competitions.
Our staff consists of highly trained professionals with an excellent record of entering students for RAD and ADAPT examinations, including several former professional dancers, graduates from major professional educational institutions in Canada and abroad, such as National Ballet School in Toronto, Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in London UK and other highly reputable schools.
Our teachers are active members of Canadian Dance Teachers Association, Royal Academy of Dance, ADAPT and other professional dance associations.
Our fully equipped facility features 5 air-conditioned studios with sprung dance floors, mirrorwalls and barres, change rooms and wash rooms.
Live piano accompaniment at most ballet lessons. Highly experienced accompanists.
The studio is conveniently located in the west end of Ottawa at the Loblaws Superstore Plaza - you may go shopping while your child is at the class.
There is plenty of parking space at the adjacent parking lot.
